Not your average pop singer, Canberra bred Sophie Edwards pairs hard-hitting lyrics with multi-genre explorations to create her moody pop music. Taking her music out of the practice rooms at the ANU School of Music and onto some of Canberra’s biggest stages, she has performed huge gigs such as the Groovin the Moo Warm Up Party, Live in Ya Lounge, Googfest, The National Folk Festival and her own sold-out show in 2019. After signing with local record label Vacant Room Records in 2020, Sophie released “Early Bird”, her first major single infusing her brooding jazz-inspired vocals with folk-pop elements. The song has clocked up over 10,000 streams on Spotify and has received airplay across the country. “Early Bird” is the first of many releases for Sophie and Vacant Room Records, with even bigger plans for the rest of 2020
